According to the Georgia State Patrol, rapper Lil Yachty was arrested and charged with reckless driving and speeding after police said he was going past 150 mph on an Atlanta highway.
The incident took place on 21 September when a white 2020 Ferrari F8 driving northbound on Interstate 75 was seen by a GSP officer. According to a GSP incident report, the cop pursued the car traveling over 150 miles per hour, with the driver weaving in and out of traffic.
The officer met up with the Ferrari, the article said, and ordered a traffic stop. Miles McCollum, whose real name is Yachty, was immediately taken into detention.
According to GSP, the Ferrari was released by Yachty's mate. Yachty was taken to Atlanta City Prison, where, the article said, he was transferred to intake workers.
Yachty shared a video with a clear caption on Monday on Instagram: "I'm not in prison."
While the incident was audio and video recorded, the report said, GSP is not releasing the video because the case has not been adjudicated. As of Monday evening, CNN was unable to determine if Yachty has legal representation in this case.
Efforts have been made to reach out to Yachty's management team.
Lil Yachty, an Atlanta native, rose to fame in 2016 with his mixtape "Lil Boat," according to Billboard. The rapper has been featured on songs like Kyle's "iSpy" and most recently "Oprah's Bank Account" featuring Drake and Da Baby.
