Uruguay and Barcelona star Luis Suarez has decided to join Juventus in a surprising move after he was told by new Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman that he has no plans this season.
Barcelona reports on Sunday, September 6 that Barcelona and Juventus are negotiating a fee that will allow him to join the Serie A champions.
Suarez, 33, has reached a personal agreement with the Turin giants over a three-year deal worth € 10 million (£9m/$12 m) a season and is expected to sit an Italian language exam in the days ahead to get a passport that will allow him to move in.
Suarez is at Camp Nou in the final year of his term, which would potentially extend in more than 60 percent of matches for another year if he plays.
The club was willing to free Suarez but opted against it as it would cost €14 m (£13m/$17 m) to end its deal. Due to the financial blows incurred by the Coronavirus pandemic, a situation the club is not ready to put itself in.
Barca, meanwhile are already plotting a move to take Suarez's place in the new look squad for Inter star Lautaro Martinez.
